Kendall AMD Antimicrobial Foam Discs are sterile, absorbent foam dressings designed for use around catheter insertion sites, drainage tubes and other percutaneous devices.
Each disc measures approximately 2.5cm (1 inch) in diameter and features a 4mm central opening, allowing it to be positioned around compatible catheters and tubes.
The foam is impregnated with 0.5% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), an antimicrobial agent that helps control bacterial growth within the dressing.
The absorbent foam helps manage moisture and exudate around insertion sites while supporting a moist wound healing environment.
Kendall AMD Foam Discs are suitable for clinical applications including central venous catheter sites, dialysis catheters, tracheostomy sites and drainage tube exit sites.
The antimicrobial activity can last for up to seven days, depending on the dressing condition and manufacturer's instructions.
